Founded in honor of Valeriano Jacuzzi of pump and spa fame by grandson Fred Cline and his wife Nancy, Jacuzzi Family Vineyards stands for a passion for winemaking, invention, and a love of family.
Although the winery’s first vintage was released in 1994, a building dedicated to the family was erected just a few years ago. It was well worth the wait. The magnificent 18,000-square-foot rustic Italian stone farmhouse was inspired by the Jacuzzi family home in the northern Italian city of Udine. It stands not far from the Clines’ first winery, Cline Cellars, at the foot of Sonoma Valley.
Private tastings and tours by appointment, gift shop, sustainable farming practices, weddings and receptions, wine club events
As its impeccable architecture suggests, Jacuzzi Family Vineyards produces ultra-premium Italian wines that honor the Jacuzzis’ 130-year heritage of winemaking and invention. Delightful Italian varietals like Aglianico, Arneis, Lagrein, Pinot Grigio, Sagrantino, Nebbiolo, Barbera, Primitivo, and Sangiovese take center stage in the portfolio and in the tasting room. In the vineyard, Italian varieties are grown using Fred’s Green String method, a set of natural and sustainable farming practices.
Visitors to the winery are able to sample the wines free of charge as they take in the building’s intriguing architectural details. Superb pieces of Italian art, Venetian-style glass chandeliers, and handmade furnishings highlight the building’s interior. Guests can wander out to an enchanting interior courtyard featuring a statue of St. Francis of Assisi beneath an 80-year-old fig tree. This, as well as many other spots on the property, serves as a charming venue for a wedding or private party. And there is still more to discover. The Jacuzzi Family Museum shares the history of the Jacuzzi family’s impressive contributions as inventors. Jacuzzi is also the only winery in northern California that houses an olive oil tasting room, gourmet shop, and production facility.
Since there is so much to see and taste, a private tour and tasting made by appointment in advance is highly recommended. Taking any opportunity to taste Jacuzzi wines is highly recommended too.
