When Bill Myers founded White Oak Vineyards & Winery in 1981, his goal was to make renowned artisan-quality wines from the finest vineyards he could find. By remaining true to his vision and acquiring 750 acres of estate vineyards in the Russian River, Alexander, and Napa Valleys, White Oak is now a world-class winery with a solid reputation for crafting excellent award-winning wines.
The winery’s flagship wines, Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc, are deeply rooted in the alluvial soils of Sonoma County’s Russian River Valley, while its Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah, and small production reserve and dessert wines hail from the Napa Valley. Winemaker Bill Parker shows incredible winemaking talent in his 90 plus-rated portfolio. The wines are routinely praised by critics, and judges at the San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition who recently granted Gold medals to the 2010 White Oak Russian River Chardonnay and the 2007 White Oak Napa Valley Merlot.
Private tasting and tours by appointment, special wine club benefits, picnic grounds, lounge with fireplace, private events, owner on site, scenic view
These and other award-winning wines, from both Sonoma and the Napa Valley, can be discovered in White Oak Vineyards & Winery’s tasting room in the heart of Alexander Valley. The winery’s appealing property is reminiscent of a Mediterranean hideaway, complete with picturesque picnic grounds and an outdoor exhibition rotisserie, grill, and courtyard. Its events are frequented by locals, wine club members, and those who know that White Oak hosts great parties. Guests can bottle their own Zinfandel on Barrel Tasting Weekend, enjoy fresh-cooked Dungeness crab at the winery’s Crab Fête, and cheer on their favorite horse at the Kentucky Derby Gala. The Lobster Lunch is another favorite.
Many guests also join White Oak’s complimentary wine club. It offers three tiers, each created for individual preferences. Members receive many benefits, including special price offerings, invitations to members only events, and complimentary use of the winery’s facilities. This is a great perk for those seeking a beautiful place to gather and celebrate with some wonderful and very distinctive wines.
