Celebrating Romance
What could be more romantic than spending time together in the sand and surf of a Classic California beach town, with beautiful vineyards just minutes away? You have plenty of lodging options– from a luxurious oceanfront resort, RV resort, or a vacation rental for your own private romantic retreat. Many beachfront hotels have special romance packages where couples are treated to special bottles of wine or Champagne, chocolate-covered strawberries, and couples massages. With seven miles of white sandy beach and plenty to do, including touring and tasting, Pismo Beach has all you could ask for when you want to celebrate a special occasion. Many restaurants celebrate this view and provide an ideal venue for a proposal or an amazing anniversary dinner. Make a dinner reservation for two and watch a sunset you’ll never forget.

But don’t make too many plans. Many of the joys of Pismo Beach are yours on a whim. Hold hands as you stroll along Pismo Beach Pier and say hello to the fisherman and pelicans you meet while you watch the surfers below. If you’re inspired, there are surf rental shops nearby where you can rent a board, kayak, and other water-sport gear. Sign up for a lesson or guided kayak tour! Just south of town, Oceano Dunes is a dynamic 3,600-acre all-sand California State Park where you can ride ATVs, drive your car on the beach, and walk through the pristine Pismo State Dunes Natural Preserve. Price Historical Park, the home ranch of city founder John Price, is another fun place to explore. Hike the trails and visit the replica Chumash Village.

Celebrating Family & Friends
Considered one of the best family beach destinations in the country, Pismo Beach is fabulous for reunions, weddings, and other celebrations with family and friends. Besides offering a temperate climate and spectacular views, there are so many fun things for groups to do. Of course, you’ll want to spend time together on the beach, but which one? Start by setting up near the pier and spend hours boogie boarding, surfing, and digging in the sand. Later, take a thrilling ride in a genuine Hummer in the Oceano Dunes or a quiet walk along Shell Beach.

Although the surf and sea take center stage, Pismo Beach is also surrounded by hills and valleys with hiking and biking trails, golf courses, and even a premium shopping outlet! Splinter off in smaller groups according to your interests and meet up later to enjoy a delicious brunch, lunch, or dinner at one of the area’s many great, group-friendly restaurants serving great food and wonderful local wines. Speaking of friendly, you can include Fido in the celebration because Pismo Beach is known for being dog friendly, too!

Celebrating Wine
As you stand with your toes in the sand looking out on the Pacific Ocean, it’s hard to believe that you’re just a few miles from San Luis Obispo Wine Country. Jump in your car , and prove it to yourself! You’ll see that you can go from waves to wine in just 15 minutes. Stop at the charming Old Edna for wine tasting, lunch, and a self-guided tour through the quaint historic town site. Follow the quiet wine country roads and stop at the wineries that call to you. You’ll enjoy getting to know the people as you learn about the wines in this special part of the world. Some wineries offer special tastings, like Tolosa’s Saturday Reserve Wine and Artisan Cheese Tasting, led by Cheese and Wine Connoisseur John Shakley. Along the way, select a standout wine to open that evening as you celebrate another beautiful Pismo Beach sunset.
