The Tallman Hotel, located in the historic country town of Upper Lake CA, is a return to a simpler time. Located on a quiet Main St off of Highway 20 just 30 minutes east of Ukiah, this handsome country hotel, built in the 1890s, was completely restored and expanded to a 17-room luxury inn and re-opened in 2006. It is the perfect place to relax in the gardens, swim in the pool, enjoy a good meal next door at the Blue Wing Restaurant, shop at the Upper Lake Mercantile nearby and explore the beautiful countryside and wineries in Lake County.
The Hotel may be historic, but it does everything possible to be energy efficient and to meet other environmental standards. Solar panels, quiet and efficient geo-exchange heating and cooling systems, market garden, electric car charging stations, green cleaning products, composting, recycling all contribute to a safer environment for everyone.
Music is performed on the property regularly. Monday night blues; Tuesday night and Sunday afternoon musicians from all backgrounds entertain our guests. The annual Blues Festival in the garden is the first weekend in August and Labor Day Monday.
