Story

Aptly located on the elegant front courtyard of the Bacara Resort & Spa, the captivating tasting room of Foley Food & Wine Society inspires guests to pursue their passion for wine, food, and travel. The airy, yet cozy, tasting room is beautifully appointed with wood beams, cut stone pillars, handsome display cabinetry, and an elegant bar. Guests are welcome to stand at the bar, find a spot on a communal sofa, or sit at a private table while they enjoy a memorable tasting.

Each tasting is indeed memorable because there are so many possibilities! More than 70 wines from the Foley Family portfolio of wineries—including Kuleto Estate, Chalk Hill, Sebastiani Vineyards and Winery, Lancaster Estate, Firestone Vineyard, Foley Johnson, Merus— are poured here, and the tasting menu changes each day. But, these exceptional wines are only the beginning.

Founded by Vintner Bill Foley, Foley Food & Wine Society is dedicated to uniting three of life’s biggest passions: wine, food, and travel. Tasting room guests are invited to pursue them all. A personal concierge is on hand to arrange exclusive tours and tastings nearby in Santa Barbara wine country at Firestone Vineyard, Lincourt Vineyards, and Foley Estate. The concierge can also schedule blending seminars and sensory seminars. While tasting, guests can also learn more about how membership in Foley Food & Wine Society gives them access to more than they’ve ever imagined. Members are enrolled in a Society Points program so that every dollar they spend gives them points that can be used to purchase exceptional wine, fine dining experiences, and luxurious lodging accommodations.

Bacara guests often return daily to the tasting room to sample new wines and chat with other hotel guests as well as Santa Barbara locals, who share their passion for wine, food, and travel. And, when it’s time to return home, they take wine country along with them, as members of Foley Food & Wine Society.
