Melrose Vineyards spans 250 acres along two stunning stretches of the Umpqua River in Oregon’s fertile Umpqua Valley. Known far and wide for its beauty and panoramic views, the tasting room has become a popular destination for travelers and neighbors alike.

In 1996, owners Wayne and Deedy Parker planted 150 acres, and then expanded in 2010 to include an additional 100 acres just miles down the road. Each harvest continues to produce premium grapes on these river bottom sites, enjoyed both by the Parkers’ wine produced at Melrose Vineyards, and the wineries which purchase the grapes grown here.

“Our grapes show the hard work that has gone into controlling our plants’ integrity,” Wayne says. This results in premium, fruit-forward, balanced wines that express the unique characteristics of the vineyards’ terroir.

In 2000, the first wines were ready for sale and the 100-year-old barn was the perfect setting to display the fruits of their labor. In leaving the timbers intact, the rustic barn feels like home with comfort and style. Besides housing the tasting room, the barn is also a large gift boutique filled with wine related gifts and foods. In 2009, the event center was opened to rave reviews. The open-air atmosphere welcomes you to stay and enjoy time with friends and neighbors.

The friendly team at Melrose warmly welcomes visitors with a saying, “Great wines, great times, Melrose wines!” Events are held in the new event center and are a blast. They include the All-You-Can-Eat Crab Feed; Music in the Vines; and the festive Harvest Celebration and Grape Stomp, where guests enjoy feeling the essence of the grape between their toes, along with live music and a barbecue. The winery is a beautiful venue for weddings and private parties, too.

A favorite on any Oregon wine tourist’s list, Melrose has truly become a destination winery.
