Grgich Hills Marinated Crab Salad

Grgich Hills Estate served this salad at their Holiday Food & Wine Pairing event last year and it was a hit! The spicy, rich crab pairs well with their Fume Blanc--100% Sauvignon Blanc made from grapes grown naturally, without artificial pesticides or herbicides.

1 pound jumbo lump crab meat
3 tablespoons lime juice
1 tablespoon lime zest
2 tablespoons Grgich Hills Estate olive oil
1 red pepper, small dice
1 bunch scallions, thinly sliced
½ jalapeño pepper, finely chopped (optional)
1 head butter lettuce


Combine the crab, lime juice, zest, olive oil, red pepper, scallions, and jalapeño pepper in a large bowl. Mix thoroughly and allow it to marinate for a minimum of 30 minutes.

Tear the lettuce into large pieces and arrange on a platter. Top each piece of lettuce with a generous spoonful of the crab salad.
