Santa Barbara natives Blair and Sarah Fox are a serious wine couple. Together, they own two wine labels and a family estate vineyard and share more than 30 years of experience in the wine business.
Blair, who was named the André Tchelistcheff Winemaker of the Year in 2008, started his ultra-boutique, eponymous label—Blair Fox Cellars—to specialize in Rhône varietals created with a very detailed, hands-on approach. The wines routinely score 90 points or more and are highly praised by wine critics. “My wines are handmade and produced in very small lots, so I can get my hands dirty,” Blair says. Yet as a winemaker, his hands apply a very light touch.
Last year, Blair and Sarah opened a tasting room in downtown Santa Barbara’s Funk Zone to showcase the wines of their second label, Fox Wine Co. Sarah’s light handiwork is also expressed in this lovely portfolio, featuring elegant Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, and Syrah.
